OpenMW 0.51.0 Fixes a Game-Breaking Morrowind Scripting Bug and Unlocks Custom Magic Effects

GTA 6 launches November 19, 2026, exclusively on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Pre-orders open June 25. Rockstar has confirmed nothing about a PC version, and Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick has only managed vague deflections when asked directly. According to PCGamesN, the best Zelnick offered at a recent investor conference was: "Rockstar has an approach to platforms which we've seen before, and they will make more announcements in due time." That gap, a confirmed console launch with no PC date in sight, is now an active attack surface. NordVPN has flagged a surge in fake GTA 6 beta keys, trojanized Windows repacks, and Android adware posing as a GTA 6 beta client. The scam wave is targeting exactly the players Rockstar has explicitly left out.
Here is the specific mechanics of what is happening. According to NordVPN, scammers are spinning up sites that mimic Rockstar's visual identity and pushing fake "private beta" access through Discord servers, YouTube videos, and gaming forums. The bait is a Windows installer or Android APK. The payload, per Gizmodo, is a trojan that opens a backdoor on your machine. NordVPN has also tracked what Techloy reports as "hundreds of amateur phishing pages" harvesting Rockstar Social Club credentials through fake login forms, with scammers even hosting some of these pages on GitHub and Vercel to add a layer of legitimacy. One fake Android app, flagged by NordVPN, was connected to a domain with a documented history of distributing infostealers, banking trojans, adware, and ransomware. The fake verification steps, the CAPTCHA-style "are you a bot?" screens, are not friction. They are theater designed to make you feel like something real is happening before you hand over your credentials or your machine.
Bitdefender notes, via Techloy, that GTA 6 malware campaigns date back to at least 2024. The scale of current campaigns has grown, and they exploit a specific gap Rockstar created by remaining silent on PC. A PC gamer waiting an unspecified number of years for a version of the biggest game release of the decade faces a heightened risk. NordVPN CTO Marijus Briedis explained the dynamic: "When people are desperate to get early access to something, their guard comes down. That's the window attackers exploit." Rockstar's console-first strategy, sound as it may be from a revenue perspective, has created a defined class of excluded players. Scammers know exactly who they are, and they know exactly what to offer them.
To be direct: there is no GTA 6 beta. There is no GTA 6 on PC, and there will not be for at minimum a year after the November launch. Unverified reports from former Rockstar employees, as covered by Screen Rant and PCGamesN, suggest a PC version targeting sometime before the end of Take-Two's fiscal year in April 2027, but those claims are unconfirmed and Rockstar has not commented. Until Rockstar says something publicly, the only people telling you when GTA 6 is coming to PC are scammers. Do not click the link. Do not fill out the form. Do not disable your antivirus to run the installer.
