GTA 6 Preorders Are Live. PC Gets Nothing Until 2027 at the Earliest.
By Dex Carr·

GTA 6 is $79.99 for the standard edition and $99.99 for the Ultimate Edition, with pre-orders opening today, June 25. Rockstar and Take-Two confirmed both prices ahead of the game's November 19, 2026 launch on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, as reported by Variety. There is no collector's edition, no steelbook, no middle tier. Two options.
The $79.99 base price is already above the $69.99 standard that current-gen releases settled into. Rockstar hasn't made a major release since Red Dead Redemption 2 in 2018, and Take-Two has been telegraphing a price increase for this title for years. Whether the market accepts $79.99 as the new normal, or whether it accepts it specifically because this is GTA 6, are two different questions.
The $20 premium on the Ultimate Edition buys vehicles, weapons, and apparel tied to both Jason and Lucia's story across the full campaign, according to Rockstar's official description. The headliner items are the Hawk & Little Morgan Revolvers: a matched pair, one etched for Lucia Caminos and one for Jason Duval, sourced from the Vercetti Estate. As GameSpot noted, the "Morgan" in the name is a plausible nod to Arthur Morgan from Red Dead Redemption 2. Rockstar enjoys this kind of connective tissue. The Ultimate Edition also includes a '95 Grotti Cheetah sports car, available in the later stages of the story rather than from the jump. Per GTABase, Standard Edition owners can purchase the Ultimate Edition upgrade separately at any time after launch.
Everyone who pre-orders before November 20, regardless of edition, gets the Vintage Vice City Pack. According to Rockstar's official materials, this includes a '55 Vapid Stanier sedan with a Shore Court garage on Ocean Beach, period-appropriate outfits and hairstyles for both Jason and Lucia, and a tropical weapon pattern for the Uzi. Cosmetic bundle, not a content gate. Nothing in the pre-order bonus touches the campaign.
Rockstar confirmed to Variety that the physical edition ships as a download code in a box. No disc. Physical copies arrive November 12 to support pre-loading a week ahead of launch. Digital buyers get the same window. Worth stating plainly for anyone who buys physical for resale or shelf value: what you are putting on the shelf is a piece of cardboard.
Lucia Caminos and Jason Duval are GTA 6's dual protagonists. Lucia is the first playable female lead in a mainline GTA title. Rockstar has confirmed the game launches as a single-player experience, per Variety. The character-switching mechanic returns from GTA 5, where players cycled between Michael, Trevor, and Franklin, three characters who largely ran on separate tracks until the story forced them together. Here the structure is tighter: two leads, interconnected from the start. The Ultimate Edition items are explicitly described as threaded through both their stories, which tells you Rockstar has built this content to surface at specific narrative moments rather than just dumping everything in your garage on day one.
GTA 6 releases November 19, 2026 on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. No PC date has been announced.
