Guilty Gear Strive Robo-Ky Teaser Drops, Full Trailer Coming at EVO 2026

The Robo-Ky teaser Arc System Works dropped at the Arc Showcase on June 24 lasts a few seconds. It shows you just enough to confirm he's in, and nothing about how he plays. The full gameplay trailer premieres at EVO 2026 this weekend, June 26-28, per Arc System Works' official announcement via EventHubs.

Robo-Ky has been on the Season Pass 5 roadmap since March, when ArcSys confirmed him as the second character in the pass following Jam Kuradoberi. As Shacknews reported at the time, Robo-Ky was officially confirmed for a summer 2026 release alongside two more unnamed characters slated for Winter 2026 and Spring 2027. The teaser does not show gameplay, but the timing is deliberate: EventHubs reports that Strive's next update arrives July 2, bringing Blazing Pass Duel 2, named 'Ennui Protocol.' Final Weapon confirmed the July 2 date and noted the new pass includes rewards like a Holy Order skin for Ky's Thunderseal weapon and a Queen Dizzy outfit, which puts the character drop almost certainly in the same window.

The Blazing Pass

The Blazing Pass launched in May with Ver. 2.01, per Arc System Works' official patch notes. It runs on daily and weekly challenges. The base tier is free. Blazing Pass Plus costs $5.99 and adds cosmetic rewards: character colors, accessories, outfits. Duel 1 ran May 14 through June 25. Duel 2 starts July 2. Each Duel pass gets a name that tracks the current DLC character's identity, Duel 2 is called 'Ennui Protocol,' which fits a robot running a copy of a human's emotional subroutines about as well as anything could.

Robo-Ky in the Series

Robo-Ky is a mechanical duplicate of Ky Kiske, built originally as a weapon, present across multiple entries in the series. His Strive implementation is unconfirmed until the EVO trailer, but his previous versions leaned hard into parody of Ky's noble-knight archetype: same voice cadence, same lightning moves, completely different energy. ArcSys could build him as a rushdown pressure tool, a zoner who mirrors Ky's spacing game, or something more disruptive. Strive has generally pushed characters toward cleaner, more defined identities than their Xrd versions, so the July 2 reveal should answer the question fast.

Guilty Gear Strive has sold over 4 million copies as of June 2026, according to Wikipedia's tracking of Arc System Works figures. Season Pass 5 is available now for $24.99 across PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam and Windows.
